Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I uninstalled everything on my laptop and inadvertently deleted my backup of Windows. I bought a OEM of Windows 10 and I can't install it because the setup says that it can't create a new partition. HELP!

Hi, Scott:

You didn't have to buy a new copy of W10.

Your notebook has a W10 Home license and product key in the BIOS, so save the OEM key you have for another PC.

Maybe you have an older one you can use the key for?

Anyway, see if cleaning the disk allows you to install W10.

It should automatically activate using the key in your PC's BIOS.

I did by a new copy of W10 and I can't install it because I can't create a partition.

I know you did, and what I am saying is don't waste the OEM key you just paid for on your notebook, which already has a W10 OEM key in the BIOS you can use.

Save the key you just bought for another PC that doesn't have W10.

I also suggested that you watch the video which will show you how to clean the disk so that perhaps W10 will then be able to create a new partition.

If W10 can't create a new partition after cleaning the disk, it is possible the hard drive is no good and needs to be replaced.

I watched the video. It doesn't help because there are no setup log files or anything in my laptop. I can't even get to the screen to enter the product code.
