Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I need to locate my serial number for my HP Pavilion Intel Pentium Silver N5000, it will not turn on and it is not located any where on the physical part of the laptop. HP referred me to Amazon and Amazon referred me to HP. It is still under warranty but will not help me without serial number. HELP!

if you got your system to work after you bought it then your Microsoft account will show the serial number in the "device list"

This assumes you activated windows

Information about HP system is either on a label or embedded in the motherboard.

Does the amazon order detail show the serial number?  Proof of purchase should have a serial number in the order.  It would be suspicious if the serial information was missing from the laptop.  The label would have to be scrapped off (if paper) or ground off the plastic.

Try www.hwinfo.com

There is a tiny portable app (one small file) that when executed, will show you EVERYTHING inside any PC.

It will give you part number, S/N, number hours on hard drive, temperature etc.

It is must for any toolkit

Yea, but system will not turn on and that app reads info from the motherboard.

The only app I know of that can get info from the hard drive is showkeyplus.  The drive is removed from the non-working system and attached to a working PC.    That app opens a file in the C drive windows file and decodes the windows serial number info.  AFAICT there is no app that can read the C drive and get motherboard info.
