I opened my laptop this morning and and there was an account named PrinceX Gekyume on the login page and it will not let me switch to my account. That account is associated with [personal info removed]. I've never heard of either of these but I'm locked out of my laptop

Hi @richardsonbobby ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your laptop might have been compromised. Here are the steps you can take to regain access to your account and secure your laptop:
1. Restart in Safe Mode
- Restart your laptop and press the F8 key (or Shift + F8) before the Windows logo appears.
- From the Advanced Boot Options menu, select Safe Mode.
2. Use Built-in Administrator Account
Windows often has a hidden Administrator account that might help:
Restart your laptop and press the F8 key (or Shift + F8) before the Windows logo appears.
Select Safe Mode with Command Prompt.
In the Command Prompt window, type the following and press Enter: net user administrator /active:yes
Restart your computer and log in as the Administrator.
3. Remove Unauthorized Account
- Once logged in, press Windows + R, type control userpasswords2, and press Enter.
- Select the unauthorized account and click on Remove.
- Create a new user account for yourself if needed.
4. Run Antivirus Scan
- Download and run a reputable antivirus and anti-malware program to scan your computer for any infections.
5. Change Passwords and Secure Accounts
- Change the passwords for all your online accounts and enable two-factor authentication where possible.
- Ensure your Windows account password is strong and unique.
6. Check for Suspicious Activity
- Go to Settings > Accounts > Family & other users and remove any unfamiliar accounts.
- Check your installed programs for any unfamiliar software and uninstall them.
7. Restore from a Backup
If you have a recent backup, you might consider restoring your system to a point before the unauthorized account appeared.

I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
