I ran a VBS script FillMem=space(4960000000) to see if it would work. Now half my RAM is always filled. I tried running FreeMem=space(4960000000), but it didn't help. I reset my laptop and even installed a fresh installation of Windows. I need help to restore my available RAM back to 8gb.As you can see, the memory usage shouldn't be above 20% even after taking the background processes into account. I need help to make the revert the available RAM to 8gb againAs you can see, the memory usage shouldn't be above 20% even after taking the background processes into account. @BlitzBoy235 Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that you would like to use the available memory.

Please change the page file in advanced options.

To increase Page File size so in Windows 10, follow these steps:

  1. Right-click on This PC and open Properties.
  2. Select Advanced System Properties
  3. Click Advanced tab
  4. Under Performance, click Settings
  5. Under Performance Options, click Advanced tab
  6. Here, under Virtual memory, select Change
  7. Uncheck Automatically manage paging file size for all drives
  8. Highlight your Windows system drive
  9. Select Custom size
  10. Change the Initial size value and the Maximum size value to a higher value
  11. Click Set
  12. Finally, Click Apply/OK all the way

If that doesn't help, please let us know how the reinstallation was done.

I would suggest you perform the recovery using HP recovery media.

You will have to order a recovery media: Click here for steps.

Or you may also attempt to download the same using the steps on this link: click here

I tried it out. But that only increases the virtual ram. And both my available physical and virtual ram are 4gb less than the total. I even reset the PC and reinstalled windows. Screenshot (2).png

@BlitzBoy235

I understand your concerns.

In that case, I would suggets you contact our phone support and check for the support option. They will help you.

Here is how you can get in touch with phone support.

1)Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/

2)Select the product type.

3)Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.

4)Select the country from the drop-down.

5)You should see the HP phone support number or Chat option listed.

We are experiencing longer than expected wait times to reach an agent due to the CoViD-19 impact and there might have been issues in you getting the expected resolution on the issue.

Have a nice day!!
