HP Pavilion 500 PC Series
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I tried to upgrade from Windows 10 to Microsoft Edge, thinking it was a simple task. Wrong!

I tried the download of Edge and thought installation would be pretty much automatic. Wrong again.

Now, no matter what I try, I can't get the PC to do anything but boot up. Even see the taskbar. Would have reset or re-installed but can't get ANYTHING to operate after boot up. Any ideas?

Sorry, but what you said makes no sense.

Windows 10 is an Operating System; Edge is a Browser -- you can't Upgrade from the first to the second,

I am running Windows 10 and Edge.

Thanks for the replay, and you're right about Windows 10 and Edge.

What I meant to say was that after Microsoft had earlier updated my Windows 10, I found that Edge did not have a "HOME BUTTON."  After installing the home button according to the directions, I found to my dismay that my PC would boot up but that's all it would do. I can not see or access the taskbar or anything else. .

Can't get to the sign-in window to even log on. Using the F8 startup and advanced settings, I am even unable to refresh, reset, or reinstall Windows.  The system actually tells me it is unable to perform any of those actions.

After start up,  windows just sits there, no controls showing. The mouse and cursor work but can access no controls. Would appreciate any ideas you may have.

WOW -- that's not good news!

If this was done recently, then go into Windows Update and see if you can back out the latest update.  You can generally do that, but only for a few days after the update.

Good Luck
