Hi @EffieLou1953,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you want to remove or disable the HP Audio Switch pop-up from appearing on your HP laptop or desktop, you can follow these steps:
1. Disable HP Audio Switch
Open HP Audio Switch Settings:
- Method 1: Right-click the speaker icon in the system tray (bottom-right corner of your screen) and select HP Audio Switch. If you don't see it directly, search for it in your Start Menu.
- Method 2: Open Control Panel or Settings and look for HP Audio Switch or Audio Settings.
Turn Off Notifications:
- Within the HP Audio Switch settings, look for an option related to notifications or pop-ups and turn them off.
2. Disable HP Audio Switch via Startup Programs
Open Task Manager:
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc or right-click the taskbar and select Task Manager.
Go to Startup Tab:
- Navigate to the Startup tab in Task Manager.
Disable HP Audio Switch:
- Find HP Audio Switch in the list. Right-click it and select Disable to prevent it from starting with Windows.
3. Remove or Uninstall HP Audio Switch
Open Settings:
- Go to Settings > Apps > Apps & features.
Find HP Audio Switch:
- Scroll through the list to find HP Audio Switch.
Uninstall:
- Select it and click Uninstall to remove it from your system.
4. Update or Reinstall Audio Drivers
Open Device Manager:
- Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
Locate Audio Drivers:
- Expand the Sound, video and game controllers section.
Update or Reinstall Drivers:
- Right-click on your audio device (e.g., Realtek High Definition Audio) and select Update driver. If that doesn’t help, you can also choose Uninstall device and then restart your computer to reinstall the drivers automatically.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
