Hi @Samaraf,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To install Windows 10 on your HP desktop computer that currently has Ubuntu installed, you'll need to follow these general steps.
Backup Your Data
Before proceeding with any major operating system installation or changes, it's crucial to back up your important data. This ensures that you don't lose anything in case something goes wrong during the installation process.
Prepare Windows 10 Installation Media
Download Windows 10 ISO: Go to the official Microsoft website and download the Windows 10 installation media creation tool. This tool will help you create a bootable USB drive or DVD with the Windows 10 installation files.
Create Bootable Media: Use the Windows 10 installation media creation tool to create a bootable USB drive or DVD. This will be used to install Windows 10 on your HP desktop.
Prepare Your HP Desktop
Access BIOS/UEFI: Restart your HP desktop and enter the BIOS/UEFI settings. This is usually done by pressing a specific key during the boot process (common keys are Esc, F2, F10, or Del, depending on your computer model).
Change Boot Order: In BIOS/UEFI settings, navigate to the boot options. Change the boot order so that your USB drive or DVD drive (whichever you're using for Windows 10 installation) is set as the first boot device.
Disable Secure Boot (if necessary): Some systems may require you to disable Secure Boot in the BIOS/UEFI settings. This ensures compatibility with the Windows 10 installation media.
Install Windows 10
Boot from Installation Media: Save changes in BIOS/UEFI and exit. Your computer should now boot from the Windows 10 installation media you created earlier.
Install Windows 10: Follow the on-screen instructions to install Windows 10. When prompted, choose to install Windows on the partition where Ubuntu is currently installed.
Partition Management: During the Windows 10 installation process, you'll have the option to format the partition where Ubuntu is installed. This will erase Ubuntu and install Windows 10 in its place.
Complete Installation: Allow the installation process to complete. Your computer may restart several times during this process.

Reconfigure BIOS/UEFI Settings (Optional)
Once Windows 10 is installed, you may need to re-enter BIOS/UEFI settings and adjust the boot order again. Ensure that Windows Boot Manager is set as the first boot device to ensure smooth startup.
Restore Data (if applicable)
After Windows 10 is installed, you can restore your backed-up data onto your new Windows installation.
Additional Notes:
Driver Installation: After installing Windows 10, you may need to install drivers for your HP desktop. These can usually be downloaded from the HP support website for your specific model.
Ubuntu Dual Boot (Optional): If you wish to keep Ubuntu alongside Windows 10 in a dual-boot configuration, it's generally easier to install Windows first, then Ubuntu. This requires partitioning your hard drive appropriately during the Ubuntu installation process.
By following these steps, you should be able to successfully install Windows 10 on your HP desktop that currently runs Ubuntu. Remember to back up your data and carefully follow each step to ensure a smooth installation process.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
