I have a laptop (HP Envy 15 Touch Screen) (i7 4th Generation)
I want to ask can i buy M2 for my laptop because there is a port and there is clearly write on top of board that (M2 x 2.5) but computer shop keeper is saying that your laptop will not compatible for M2 you should buy M1.
Please tell me what should I do?
Thanks

Hi:
That looks like a mSATA slot to me.
I would just replace the 2.5" mechanical drive with a 2.5" SSD.
You would need to provide the full model number or product number of your notebook so we can check the service manual to see if the mSATA slot can be used for a boot drive.
Some slots can be used for boot drives and some can only be used as a SSD cache to accelerate the 2.5" hard drive.
The service manual should tell us what that slot is.
Also the M2 x 2.5 indication has nothing to do with the slot.
That is the size of the screw that goes into the nearby hole.
M2= metric 2 mm diameter.
2.5= the length of the screw -- 2.5mm long.
