Hi @shivanird
Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the "How to reinstall the hid compliant touchscreen driver" .
Follow the steps to uninstall to reinstall the drivers-
1)In Windows, search for and open Device Manager.
2)Expand the Human Interface Devices heading.
3)The touch screen device is labeled HID-compliant touch screen, or similar. Right-click the touch screen device and select Uninstall.
4)Confirm the uninstallation.
5) Restart the computer to reinstall the touch screen driver.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Thank you for the reply. Since I installed the wrong driver another driver keeps popping up even if I try to uninstall it. It is called "I2C HID-device" and the HID compliant touchscreen driver is being hidden because of it. It keeps showing up after I restart my PC. I tried to reset my PC but it also gives me the error "there was a problem resetting your PC. no changes have been made".

Error/Code 45 represents - "This hardware device is not connected to the computer"?
It's recommended you reconnect this hardware device to the computer to fix the issue, however, considering it's a laptop and the part may not be inaccessible, I suggest you update the BIOS, wireless card, and the Chips Click here to find and install it.
Keep me posted!

My hid driver did not respond after following suggestions. Purchased recovery USB. During loading software, after a complete wiping/auto clearing software, computer failed to load software due to hid issue. I suspect loose touch screen connector or hardware. Cannot load operating system because loading halts on hid error. Who can I contact to resolve this issue? **Bleep**

As this is a hardware issue, I'd suggest you Contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your computer.
If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. If yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from. Check next to your profile Name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.
Have a great day!

Had independent repair center listed by HP look at hardware connections inspection for loose connections and burn or broken cabling...no problems. They uploaded Windows 10 pro. Touchscreen did not work. I reloaded HP BIOS, no improvement....frustrated. Possible hardware touch screen failure?
