Where do you have the pics saved -- locally or in OneDrive?

I personally find OneDrive to be useless so I have it completely disabled as I use local network storage in its place.

When you open File Manager, after the external drive is connected, when you scroll down on the left side, it should show a list of drives, including the external drive. If you then click that drive, it should show a list of folders on the drive.  If there aren't any, then you need to create one -- call it Pics if you like. Then, click the Pics folder to open it. Go into that folder, right-click select New, text document, and enter some text.  Then see if it saves that file.  If it does not, then you can't write to the drive.
