HP Pavilion Aero 13.3 inch Laptop PC 13-be0000 (3B3W6AV)

Hello this is worrying. I signed in on the HP website support ( using my log in details) and a went on  THE SUPPORT chat.

However it was a false chat which asked my problem and then said they will call me.

I really thought it was official as I went through HP

Most seriously they asked for access to my lap top, said they could see trojans and asked 999 dollars to mend.

I cut off, but I am worried that they accessed the laptop.

I have since run three scans and nothing has been found. However I am still worried they might have left something or accessed some information.

If even the HP site not safe what is one to do

Hi,

Most likely they did not access the PC as long as you did not give permission to do so.

I have flagged your post, so someone should step in.

Hope it helps,

David

Sadly they did as they said they had to access computer remotely to fix it.

They then said that they were sorry to say but I had trojans and that is what was causing the proble,

I took a picture of what they showed me, can send if you want.

I got suspicious when they said that they could fix it withing 2 hours with the techical dept and it will cost me 999 dollars. I cut off. Have telephone number they called from USA and the picture.

I know you think I am an imbecile and so do I, but I had  this done with apple when they called me back and accessed the computer.

Anyway my computer lady did all kind of scans straight afterwards and said that they did not leave anything behind and hopefully they just wanted the payment for the non-existing trojans.

Still pretty cross with myself but i always use chats but would not trust HP help line anymore.

Thank you for coming back to me
