I believe a factory reset would clear up how utterly pathetic and slow my laptop has become. My browser continuously loses touch with YouTube, and FireFox is 100% consistent in not responding to every other thing I try to do browsing the web, shopping on Amazon is torture because everything is sooo sloooow. . . I have an external drive, as there is no internal drive to insert disks, but I do not have the original start up disk that came with the laptop when I purchased it (if there even was one). It may have been thrown out or lost when I moved recently. I do not know how to perform a factory reset on my laptop, but I am even more concerned with how to fire the computer back up and get it going after performing one.

It should fire back up on it's own after doing a System Recovery. Follow the guide here:
