I have tried to install Linux Mint and Linux Ubuntu in the HP Pavillion Aero 13-be0016ns. With Ubuntu it freezes when starting the ISO images, and with Linux it starts after 5 minutes delay (from an SSD disk) and half of the components doesn't run, including the option to install it. I have used Linux for more that 10 years on different machines, this is the first one that I'm stuck on the install.
Does anybody knows how to perform the installation?
Thanks a lot!

Hello @Joaquín_CF
Sorry to hear that you are having problems ... and I would like to help you.
(1) BIOS options ( if available )
- disable <TPM>
- disable <secure boot>
- enable AHCI
- enable <legacy boot>
(2) Try different distros and use <compatibility mode>

Thanks for the hints. The bios in this machine is not very comprehensive, but at least I disabled secure boot and TPM and with those changes Linux Mint install image was able to start. However, when I tried to proceed to install, it freezes when “installing drivers” appears at the screen.
It’s a pity, this notebook is impressive and it could be a wonderful Linux Machine

The Linux kernel plays an essential role. Go back in <version> history of distribution and test older versions bit by bit. You will notice differences and even improvements.

From my tests, kernels 5.15 freezes when I try to login, or at the very first second of use (Ubuntu 22.04 or Linux Mint 21). Other with kernel 5.13 seems to work with the exception of Wifi.
The only one I succeeded has been Zorin with 5.13 kernels, where even the Wifi is working.
I don’t feel like using an OS that I can’t upgrade the kernel, but I’m trying it

Hello @Joaquín_CF
When starting the kernel, parameters can be set to disable/enable certain functions. This makes it possible to disable freezing and run in compatibility mode ...
Try < Lubuntu >, the light and fast version of ubuntu.

As I’m used to Linux Mint, I managed to install 20.3, and with the help of a Wifi dongle, download and install the appropriate wifi driver. The only problem is that I have to do a hardware shutdown, as normal shutdown freezes the laptop (with Zorin, shutdown was not an issue)
I don’t have enough knowledge to tinker with grub parameters, I’ll have to learn that. Any help would be appreciated
