Re-Posting in the hopes that " Call HP customer service" is NOT the answer to this issue.
I'm trying to reset to the factory settings after I got a dark screen that didn't boot.
The first couple of tries got me to the Restoration Incomplete message.
Now I am still getting the incomplete message but a Windows Setup window is also present as well as a FBI DEBUG mode that isn't responding.
I have tried to boot from the Windows media file.
I have also tried to boot from the HP cloud recover file.
I'm still getting the error with next step: check the Notebook Model or feature byte.
Has anyone OUT OF CONTRACT with HP found a solution?

Did you contact support and ordered the recovery media?
