I want to know if it´s possible to increase my laptops RAM. I start a new school on monday and just realised that i need atleast 8gb RAM and I only have 6gb. Can I install more? Is it possible to use an external harddrive or something?
//

Hi Malin,
The notebook will support max 32GB of DDR4 2400MHz RAM (2x16GB)
At the moment you have one 4GB module and one 2GB module, so you could swap the 2GB module for a 4 or 8GB module which should be enough.
Ex:
https://www.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/hp---compaq/hp-15-ay182no#memory
On page 56 of service manual you can see the steps to install the RAM

Let me know if you need any further help.
Take care,
David

I would also replace the Hard Drive with an SSD which would give a great boost in everyday performance of the PC. Especially since SSDs have become a lot cheaper.

I don´t know much about computers so I don´t think I can do this alone. I need to find someone to install this for me. Tank you anyway, now I know it is possible at least. I really like my computer and as an aspiring writer I don´t like to change my keyboard or buy a new computer when I don´t have to. So thank you, you made my day.
