HP 280 G4 Microtower PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I have  HP 280 G4 Microtower PC (featuring i5 8th Gen), which run in Windows 10.

I tried to uninstall Windows 10 and Install Windows 7 PRO SP1 64-bit but failed for sometimes because my usb keyboard and mouse is not working when installation is in process and I need to use keyboard or mouse to continue.

I already tried to enable legacy in BIOS but still not working. I tried to install WIndows 7 inside HDD using other HP PC and working fine, but when I tried to using original HP 280 G4 Microtower PC to run the WIndows 7 keyboard and mouse is not working also.

I tried to look for the driver for this model but cannot find the driver.

Is it not possible to install Windows 7 in this model? Or is there any method that can make keyboard and mouse work properly?

Thank you

Hi:

Unfortunately it is not possible to install W7 on that model.

The last model PC you could hope to get W7 to work on were those with the Kaby Lake chipsets and you had to pull some fancy tricks to make that happen.

W10 only on the 280 G4.

There are no USB 3.1 drivers for W7, which is why the KB and mouse don't work, and the USB 2 ports don't work until after Windows has installed.
