Windows update won't install OEM - HIDClass - 18.16.37.672. I have an HP laptop with windows 11.

Hi:

 

If you don't have any devices showing up in the device manager with a little ! mark next to it, and your notebook is running fine other than the update getting stuck, I recommend that you run the Microsoft Hide Windows update utility that I zipped up and attached below.

 

Sometimes updates are sent to PC's that are not applicable to it and that is why it won't install.

 

Run the update.  It will search find the update that won't install.

 

Check the box to hide the update

 

It will run again and report the problem is 'fixed.'

 

Restart the PC, the update will probably still be showing up in the Windows update section.  It may say attention required.

 

Try to install the update again and it should disappear.
