HP 15-ay
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I installed a new SS hard drive on my failing computer. It won't boot up. I made an installation tool (Media creation tool) and that didn't work. I looked into why and it looks like I have no "Octane memory" on the new hard drive. How would I proceed? Thank you very much! Sue 🙂

Oh, and you probably know anyway, but I meant Optane, not Octane. 🙂

Thank you for the information.

Please perform the hard drive test and check.

1) Shutdown the computer.

2) Turn the computer back on again and repeatedly tap on the ESC until a Startup menu appears.

3) Press F2 once.

4) Go to Component test.

5) From the list, run the Hard Drive (extensive) test.

Please try to perform the HP cloud recovery

If the issue still persists, you will have to order a recovery media: Click here for steps.

Have a nice day!!
