Hello there!
I would like to install Windows 7 on my new hp Pavilion "cd099nia" since I don't like Windows 10. But the problem is that hp has released it's windows 10 drivers only, for this model.
Will there be any problems if I install them on Windows 7?
Thanks

Hi, @mkaafy
ieee488 is correct.
The only W10 driver that might work is the touchpad driver because some of those drivers also have the W7 driver files included.
I think the biggest issue will be that I don't believe that AMD developed a W7 driver for the graphics your notebook comes with.
Other than that, you would have to use the W7 drivers from the hardware component manufacturer's websites (Realtek, AMD, etc).
Now, if you want to try W7, here are the links to the chipset and possible graphics drivers you would need.
Chipset: Select the W10/W7 64 bit driver and restart the PC
https://www.amd.com/en/support/chipsets/amd-socket-am4/x470
Graphics: Scroll down the page, and download the W7 x64 driver and restart the PC
If those, work, I'll give you the links to the rest, 'cuz it is a lot of work for me to do this for you.
If they don't work, there is no point in proceeding any further.

Thanks for your detailed reply and the links!
I'll give it a shot!
What if I install Windows 8.1 then? In this case I guess there will be less incompatibilities with Windows 10 drivers, maybe?

You're very welcome.
If you look at the graphics driver link I posted, AMD didn't even develop any W8.1 graphics drivers for the APU your notebook comes with.
You can try the W7/W10 graphics drivers on W8.1 but don't be surprised if they don't work.
I really think you need come to the realization that the only OS that is going to work correctly on your model is W10.

.@Paul_Tikkanen.
So I finally installed windows 7 and it's working! Thank you!
First, I installed those hp drivers for this model that are not labled with windows 10's build version.
Then, I downloaded intel's bluetooth and wifi drivers from intel's website and Realtek's LAN driver from Realtek's website.
After that, I checked device manager and there was just one unknown device left and it was hp's 3D DriveGuard which I found it's download link here on hp Community.
Now everything's working fine.
Thanks!
