I have a question regarding the above:

How can one replace the hard disk with an SSD?

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:  

How to install a solid-state drive in a laptop:

  • Step 1: Unplug your laptop from any connected power sources or external cables and unscrew the body to expose the internal hardware. Remove the battery and place it aside.
  • Step 2: Look for any extra screws that may be securing the current drive in place. You will need to unscrew and remove them before you can successfully remove the drive.
  • Step 3: Lift the old hard drive up and carefully remove it at the appropriate angle from its socket.
  • Step 4: Using the same angled technique, insert the SSD and push it firmly into place until it makes full contact with the interface.
  • Step 5: Fasten any necessary screws back into position to ensure a strong, immovable hold. Re-insert the computer battery and screw the back panel back on.

If you’re planning to start your PC from scratch, you won’t need to worry about cloning your existing hard drive. For those looking to migrate their data onto a new SSD, we’ve got you covered.

Step 1: Install a disk cloning software onto your PC. We recommend the following programs for Windows 10 migrations:

  • Acronis Disk Director 12.5
  • Clonezilla
  • EaseUS Todo Backup 11.0
  • Macrium Reflect 7
  • Paragon Drive Copy 15 Professional

Step 2: Connect the SSD via USB cable.

Step 3: Within your choice of cloning software, activate the cloning process by selecting what information and data you want transferred to the new SSD.

Hi Echo_Lake,

Thank you very much for taking the time to reply. I really appreciate it.

My SSD has thankfully been installed by the HP Service Engineer.

My questions below are regarding reinstalling the OS in the SSD:

1. Would the BIOS have remained in the system or would that too have got uninstalled?

2. If the BIOS would have got uninstall, how do I reinstall it?

Thank you for posting back. 

 

To get the answer to this question, when you change system storage the new clean OS gets installed therefore BIOS will be flashed along with OS installation on the new SSD.

HELLO HP COMMUNITY,I HAVE HP PAVILION G4 SRIES LAPTOP AND ONE DAY I HAVE INSTALL NEW SETUP OF BIOS TO REMOVE MY LAPTOP FLASH SCREEN OF GOVERNMENT AND  WITH THAT I HAVE UNISTALL MY SYSTEM BIOS ,NOW WHEN I OPEN MY SYSTEM NO BOOTING OPTION OR BIOS OPTION IS SHOWING IN MY LAPTOP,SO I WANT TO INSTALL MY HP BIOS IN MY MY LAPTOP AGAIN BUT WHEN I VISIT TO YOUR WEBSITE(SUPPORT.HP.COM) IT IS SHOWING THAT WE ARE UNABLE TO FIND DRIVERS FOR YOUR PRODUCT AND I HAVE TRIED MANY OTHERS WAYS, SO TELL ME HOW TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

BIOS files are available on HP's website, BIOS files are part of windows operating system while installing the Windows OS even BIOS files gets installed. 

 

BIOS Update: Follow steps from the link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c00042629 Note: If Bios files are broken or corrupted then you need to send the computer for service so that manufacturer can flash the BIOS.

The HP Cloud Recovery Tool allows you to download recovery software to a USB drive. You can use the downloaded recovery image file in order to install the Windows operating system.
