Hi,
I have a SPECTRE X360 13-ap0000na (4xg90ea), 8th gen cpu, whiskey lake chipset (speccy says)
I have a reliable and many many times tested Windows 11 usb.
Can't install Windows 11 as the setup won't detect the SSD (Wdc Pc SN720 256gb) but bios detects it.
Downloaded the 2 available SATA drivers from here
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp101001-101500/sp101499.exe
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp98501-99000/sp98743.exe
choose to load drivers for the disk and pointed the folders i extracted them in my usb as usual but setup still won't detect the hard drivers.
It always worked but not on this laptop.
Can anybody help?

after i finished this terribly slow process i will go to the device manager to see what are the device ids for that controller, will find the suitable controller driver, load it during setup and wipe the hard drive with all optional software came with the old windows 10 that was in the windows usb i am creating now.
finally and hopefully will upload the drivers for others to benefit.

W10 should not need any storage controller drivers in order to find the drive.
You can use the HP cloud recovery tool to create a bootable USB recovery drive that will reinstall Windows, the drivers and the software that originally came with your PC.
Here is an info link for how to use the utility. You will need a 32 GB USB flash drive to create the recovery media with.
HP Consumer PCs - Using the HP Cloud Recovery Tool in Windows 11 and 10 | HP® Customer Support
You can download the software from the Microsoft Store.
HP Cloud Recovery Tool - Microsoft Store Apps
If you have to use the utility on another PC, you will need to enter your notebook's product number in the tool's search window in order to proceed to make the recovery media.
Your PC's product number is: 4XG90EA#ABU
Then you can upgrade to W11 for free.

Hi Paul,
Thanks for reply. I just started to create a usb with hp cloud recovery tool. it progressed just little below %9 in 65 minutes and i have 1000mbit internet here. I see no activity on usb yet after format and it suggesting that it is just downloading the image file. so i will have to wait for 10 hours for this to finish at least then another unknown amount of time for burning the image into usb.
terrible mechanism by hp.
-they could have teamed up with microsoft for this. the hp cloud recovery tool could download the windows iso only for hp pc as microsoft has faster servers. optional installations could be done optionally after installation finished. unnecessary 32gb usb usage.
-or simply the sata/rst/storage drivers could fix the problem
-also why i have to install windows 10? i want windows 11.
-after all finished i will be busy installing and updating windows 11 and update it too. endless misery.
i just don't want to wait for this.
do you have any knowledge on sata/storage drivers Paul? this usually a very simple process to load sata driver during windows setup.
it's not even %10 yet.
it hurts my brain.
all terrible, all.

You're very welcome.
I'm surprised the creation took so long.
I've run the thing many times for many different model notebook's and PC's and it usually doesn't take more than 20 minutes and I have a 300 MBPS internet service.
The storage controller drivers should be those for the Intel 8th gen core processors but anytime I have given them to anyone they don't work.
FWIW, I have zipped them up and attached them below, and I would be shocked if they work for you.
