HP Notebook - 15-bs038ne
Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

Hi their,

I have just purchased HP Notebook - 15-bs038ne and was planning to install windows 7 then upgrade to windows 10. But I have discovered that hp do not support drivers for windows 7 for this model.

can I know what steps to follow to successfully install windows 7 with its drivers so I can then upgrade to windows 10?

Thanks.

Why not just install Windows 10?

It makes no sense to install Windows 7 then upgrade to Windows 10.

It's because I don't have windows 10 version right now. I. Only have windows 7 DVD which I purchased a long time ago for my old laptop.

Thanks a lot, but do you know if my windows 7 license product key will work on windows 10 or not?

thanks again for your support 🙂

Hi, @Ahmed-Omran

There are no W7 graphics drivers for your model since it has a 7th generation Intel core processor.

Intel and AMD only developed W10 drivers for that platform.

The W7 product key will not work on W10, and there are no free upgrades from W7 to W10 anymore.

So, if you want the notebook to run right, you will need to purchase W10 64 bit.

No 32 bit operating systems are supported--not even W10.

Thanks a lot ,

I contacted Microsoft and their support told me to install my windows 7 version then upgrade to windows 10 since my old device is crashed so I can use my old license on the new device. Am not sure if this is correct or not.

thanks again bro for your advice.

You're very welcome.

You would have to install W10x64, and ask a support person at Microsoft to activate your W10 installation with the W7 product key you have, if someone at Microsoft said you could do that.

This can only be done if you had a retail W7 product key.

If there is an OEM product key sticker on the old device, that is not supposed to be used on a new PC.  It is not transferrable.

But check with Microsoft.  They control the licensing rules, not HP.

This makes no sense.

What old license?  Your license is for Windows 10.

I mean that Microsoft support told me to install my windows 7 DVD license I purchased for the old device (which by the way was updated to windows 10)on the new device and then upgrade to windows 10 normally.
