There is a problem installing Intel DPTF (Dynamic Platform & Thermal Framework)

Tasks already completed:

Updated to current BIOS F.10 Rev.A

Clean install using HP Cloud Recovery on USB thumbdrive image.

The driver points to a amd64 system file but that's the wrong driver. Windows 10 Event Viewer tells of DPTF event id 17.

I tried to install this driver which should be correct https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp98501-99000/sp98741.exe

Image showing the wrong drivers:

Something isn't allowing the correct Intel DPTF driver to install. I tried to figure it out but I am lost. This issue has caused a few BSOD's commenting DPTF. If these drivers where to be installed It would save me from having to file a Warranty claim.

I am willing to go remote with a HP employee that knows how to handle this issue as well as any solutions that were successful.

Thanks

Simplio

@simplio Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that you are unable to install the Intel Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework Driver.

We do not have the option to take the remote control and check.

I would suggets you contact our phone support and check for the support option. They will help you.

Here is how you can get in touch with phone support.

1)Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/

2)Select the product type.

3)Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.

4)Select the country from the drop-down.

5)You should see the HP phone support number or Chat option listed.

We are experiencing longer than expected wait times to reach an agent due to the CoViD-19 impact and there might have been issues in you getting the expected resolution on the issue.

Keep us posted,
