@Goodnews6518, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
Perform a Hard Reboot
Turn off the laptop completely by holding down the power button for about 10-15 seconds.
Once it’s off, power it back on and check if it’s still stuck.
Boot Into Safe Mode
Turn off your laptop completely (if it's not already off).
Turn it back on and immediately press the F8 key repeatedly as it boots up.
From the boot menu, choose Safe Mode.
If you can get into Safe Mode, you might be able to repair Windows or attempt a system restore.
Use Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE)
Turn off your laptop completely, then turn it on again and press Esc or F11 repeatedly to access the recovery menu.
From the menu, select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Repair.
If Startup Repair doesn’t work, you can also try System Restore (if a restore point was created earlier) or System Image Recovery.
Check for Corrupt Boot Files
If you can boot into the recovery environment, follow these steps:
Open Command Prompt from the Advanced Options.
Type the following commands and press Enter after each one:
- bootrec /fixmbr
- bootrec /fixboot
- bootrec /rebuildbcd
Restart your computer and see if it resolves the issue.
I hope this helps.
Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.
Take care and have a good day.
Did we resolve the issue? If yes, please consider marking this post as "Accepted Solution" and click "Yes" to give us a helpful vote - your feedback keeps us going!

Hey @Goodnews6518,
Thank you for your response
Hard Reboot Again
Turn off the laptop by holding the power button for 10-15 seconds.
Unplug the laptop from power and remove the battery (if possible).
Hold the power button for another 15-20 seconds.
Plug it back in and turn it on again.
Boot From a USB/DVD
If you have a Windows installation USB/DVD, insert it into the laptop.
Turn it on and press ESC or F9 to open the boot menu.
Select the USB/DVD to boot from.
Choose Repair your computer and then Troubleshoot > Advanced Options.
Try Startup Repair or System Restore from here.
