Pavilion 15-p288ng
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I have fresh installed Windows 10 Home on my HP Pavillion Notebook 15-p288ng. I encountered problem with Intel Management Engine Interface Driver. It shows me yellow triangle in Device Manager. When I try to perform update, it says that latest version is already installed. Current version is 11.0.0.1146. In description stands next text:

This device cannot start. (Code 10)

STATUS_DEVICE_POWER_FAILURE

Does anybody have older version of this driver (10.xx.xx.xx or 9.xx.xx.xx) or some other solution?

Kind regards,

Aleksandar

Hi, Uninstall your current version and try install this:

drv ver: 9.5.2.1489

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp62001-62500/sp62419.exe

Probably this driver solve your problem.

Hi, @aco1992

Maybe try the newer version...

I have installed that version 11.6.0.1045, restarted my laptop and yellow mark is still there in Device Manager.

In Event Viewer I can see same messages as earlier:

Intel(R) Management Engine Interface driver has failed to perform handshake with the Firmware (FWSTS0: 0x1E000042, FWSTS1: 0x6600A106).

The Intel(R) Management Engine Interface is being disabled.

Any other version od driver (maybe 10.xx.xx.xx) or any other solution?

Hi:

I don't see any version 10.

Here is the link to every Intel Management Engine Interface driver that Intel has.

I have been searching it earlier this day and problem is I could not find IMEI driver for my laptop HP Pavilion 15-p288ng which has i5-5200U 2.2 GHz CPU. There is bunch of IMEI drivers, but for my laptop (Intel CPU) it does not exist on Intel site.

I would like to try a couple of different IMEI driver versions.

Do you have some links where I can download more versions of IMEI for my HP laptop?

Hi:

Usually the drivers will work if you notebook has the same hardware ID as the files contain.

The 9.xx versions are for W8.1, not W10.

You can try manually installing the driver so you don't get the platform not supported error.

I found this one for W8.1 from the 15-p000 base model support pages.

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp66001-66500/sp66098.exe

Can you tell me how to install manually driver for W8.1 on W10? I was trying to do that by running .exe file directly from Downloads, but got that error message that platform not suported?

Hi:

Please post the hardware ID of the Intel Management Engine Interface device your notebook has.

Use this guide for how to find the hardware ID for a device.

https://www.howtogeek.com/193798/how-to-find-drivers-for-unknown-devices-in-the-device-manager/

I have to find out what drivers we have posted that have driver support for that ID.
