HP Pavilion - 15-cc553cl Product1KU31UA Serial5CD7265N8Q
Microsoft Windows 10 IOT

Intel Optane is not listed, the computer does not have Optane memory or Optane memory is malfunctioning and cannot be detected on my wife's HP Pavilion.  The warranty expired in 2018.  The laptop used Windows 10; it was dropped; we ran diagnostics using the HP system as it was running erratically.  Then it rebooted itself to a black screen.  Following the guidance from the HP virtual agent on my own laptop, all attempts at revival have led me to this community board.  Personally, I am thinking it is time for my wife to bite the bullet and to get a new laptop...thoughts? Comments?  At the moment it is not much more than a battery-operated brick.

@KoshVorlon896

Its specs

It does NOT have Optane, it ONLY has

1 TB 5400 rpm SATA

Dropping a notebook may cause unpredictable damages in and out. Very hard to say which one.

Regards.

the unit does not have a hard drive....it is solid-state

There are a couple of iterations, both with a spinning hard drive or SSD.  At any rate, it is not an Optane equipped model.  Based on your post, trying to repair this laptop to a reliable state would likely cost more than it's worth.  There is no simple way to determine whether one, or multiple parts are damaged.  If the mainboard requires replacement, time to move on.
