HP Elitebook 8470p

Hi, I acquired an HP Elitebook 8470P with a bad keyboard. So far, I have:

  • Replaced the keyboard with a new version
  • Updated BIOS
  • Reinstalled keyboard drivers
  • Checked the ribbon which is perfect
  • Checked the socket which looks perfect also
  • Removed the mouse 'nubbin' cable from the keyboard, but no difference
  • Reinstalled windows from a format

The issue still persists.

If I type E, it types EP
If I type Q, it types Q;
If I hit delete, it deletes the whole line
If I hit P, it turns on flight mode
...and other weirdness

No sign of liquid damage anywhere. I have been thorough.

What is going on? What can I do? Can the dock port cause this?

External keyboard works fine but this is a notebook so I am after an actual fix, not a sticking plaster. Any useful help appreciated. Before replying please see what I've already listed above, as canned responses are a waste of time, hence me typing all this out. Thanks.
