HP Recommended

I am planning on buying a laptop mostly for school stuff and gaming (World of Warcraft and some Steam games). This laptop is on sale during boxing week in Canada and I am wondering if HP is a good brand? I tried searching the web for reviews and opinions but I am coming across mixed reviews.

Any other suggestions i.e., Acer? Asus?

Thanks in advance.

Sorry, but your link does not work.

If you are serious about Gaming, then you need to review Gaming laptops -- and those are quite pricey, and tend to fall into three ranges:

1) entry level -- around $1000 USD

2) mid-level -- $2500 -- 3500

4) high-level -- $5000 and up

Just to show you how much you CAN spend, the current most expensive Gaming laptop is the ASUS Mothership and that lists for $10,000!  Yes, really!!

The point here is that you can't buy an entry level (sub-$500) laptop and turn it into a Gaming machine.

So you need to think seriously about how much money you want to spend for the real thing.
