OMEN by HP 15-dc1028nf
FreeDOS

Hello everyone! So I'm getting a Hp omen 15 that comes with freedos 2.0 from the factory and I'm going to install windows 10 pro. I was wondering if it's safe to delete the freedos and hp docs partitions? If not can you explain? And after installing what drivers should i install?

Generally speaking, when HP releases a PC model with FreeDOS, it does not provide any Windows drivers -- and without those, you are likely to run into hardware issues, as the generic drivers that MS Windows installs generally do not have the extended functions present in the HP drivers.

So, my advice is to hold off on this until you hear back from someone else here who can point you to HP drivers that will work with your model PC.

Hey! Thanks for responding back! After doing some research i found out that i can install the drivers from the official hp website. And for the nvidia drivers they can be installed from nvidia's official website or simply download nvidia geforce experience. My main concern now is whether If i delete the hp docs and freedos partitions while installing windows will cause any harm to the laptop.
