Is our Envy15 A6U31AV  compatible with a win 10 upgrade from win7

Hi:

 

According to the support page, HP only has drivers for W7 and W8.

 

HP ENVY 15t-3200 CTO Notebook PC Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Customer Support

 

That means HP does not support your PC for W10 and has not tested it on W10.

 

That does not necessarily mean your notebook can't run W10, but you would need to have intermediate to advanced PC knowledge to deal with issues that may require driver installation for devices that need drivers and you would have to use the Windows 8 ones that exist in most cases.

 

The only suggestion I can offer if you want to try out W10 on your PC would be to click on the blue Update Now button at the link below.

 

Download Windows 10 (microsoft.com)

 

Before doing that, you may want to make a system image and bootable rescue media with the free Macrium Reflect software, in case things go wrong during the upgrade process.

You save the image on a portable hard drive and if you need to recover your PC from the image, you boot from the rescue media you created to access the system image.

 

If you upgrade to W10 and it doesn't work right, you have around 10 days to go back to Windows 7 as long as you don't delete any files.
