Hello,
Good morning.
HP 850 G5:
BIOS HP Firmware Pack (Q78) 01.09.01 Rev.A:
After update the last BIOS the computer does not respond from Sleep / Hibernation, the backlight of the keyboard turns on but not the screen.
It's neccesary force with shutdown from ON/OFF button during 30 seconds.
After forcing off from this button, the screen goes black and the fan of the computer at full speed without ever showing anything on the screen, or the POST of the BIOS.
This occurs with both power supply and battery only also.
It's necessary to make a SoftReset from the power button for 20 seconds. And then the computer can starts normally.
It is a clean OS installation, a new computer in perfect condition (purchased in May 2019).
Windows 10 Pro 64 bits: version 10.0.18362 N / A Build 18362
With the previous BIOS it did not happen.
I have done rollback / downgrade to the previous BIOS version: HP Firmware Pack (Q78) 01.08.01 Rev. A 16.6 MB Aug 14, 2019 and everything has worked properly again.
- BIOS Version: HP Q78 Ver. 01.08.01, 07/18/2019: OK
- BIOS Version: HP Firmware Pack (Q78) 01.09.01 Rev. A: NOT OK
The problem is with the new BIOS 01.09.01 Rev.A.
Will HP release a BIOS fix after investigating this issues?
Does it happen to more people?
Thank you.

Hello Spbisc97,
Good afternoon.
There are a serious problem with this BIOS version but HP won´t do anything to solve it.
I've a Support Case open: 5039965122 / CRM Case: 0049908000525 from November 11 but HP don´t contact with me, not delete from web this BIOS version and does nothing.
I've published another post like this an HP moderator delete them, several times. It seems that HP doesn't want the truth to be known.
I wanted to warn everyone not to install that version of bios and I find that HP deletes the posts and HP not fix it.
I'm think that it may be related with this fix in the new BIOS version:
- Fixes an issue where the system intermittently enters hibernation after the system is idle for approximately 2
hours in battery modewhile HP Sure Run and Bitlocker are enabled.
But I think that HP has not tested it in deep because it's fails.
When we've a new rev. for this BIOS?. Like a BIOS 01.09.01 Rev.B. for example.
The problem is with the new BIOS 01.09.01 Rev.A.
The bios with problems is still published today. HP how many laptops do you want to fails your customers?.

Yo can open a Support Case, you can posts about this issues in this HP Community, you can post this issue in the HP's Twitter:
By the moment, you can solve it doing a rollback to previous BIOS version. But I notice that when go back from Sleep the time is more than before.
Until HP decide to solve it, we only can an advisories.
