Trying to fix my
HP ENVY x360 - 15-ar052sa
The keyboard and touchpad are supposed to turn off when in tent mode or the creen is fully flipped over.
At the moment that isnt working so buttons are being pressed all the time.
I have used the HP recovery program to reinstall all the relavent drivers but it hasn't worked.
This is the second time this has happened.
The first one went back to supplier as it was within 30 days of purchase.
It has now happened again and the warranty has expired.
I did a full factory reset on the first one and that didnt work.
Not something i would expect from an almost £1000 laptop but none the less i want to get it working again.

I see you are facing issue with the tablet mode.
For better clarity and to assist you correctly, I would require more information regarding this:
- Has it ever been disabled while in tablet mode before?
- Please let me know the complete product# or model# of the computer to assist you better.
For now please try these steps:
Solution 1:
The keyboard in Windows 10 has an automatic detector to disable the keyboard and the trackpad as soon as it becomes a 'tablet'. To access it go to the following menu items:
Control panel (NOT SETTINGS) -> Keyboard (use icons) -> Keyboard Lock -> Auto-Lock the keyboard and touchpad (recommended)
You can use these settings to disable the keyboard in tablet mode
Solution 2:
Some of the users who had the similar issue have mentioned in some forums that the issue is fixed by adjusting the angle of the tablet. When the laptop is rotated sideways it attempts to switch to tablet mode, even when you have not adjusted the screen angle. The sensing is done by an orientation sensor in the base of the laptop, not in the hinges. So, to turn the keyboard back on and to go to laptop mode try tilting the whole laptop towards you slightly and check.
Solution 3
- If it does not please perform a complete system recovery again to factory settings.
- Then install the latest version of HP support assistant.
- Please perform all Windows update again.
- Then update the Intel Integrated Sensor Solution Driver again.
- Please run the Intel driver utility and update it from the Intel website.
- Also, ensure that you have the latest bios update by running HP support assistant.
- This should do the trick for you if there is no hardware issue with the computer.
If nothing works, please try the steps from this Microsoft community link:http://hp.care/2yJLx3P to disable the keyboard from device manager.
Keep me posted, how it goes! However, we'll try and follow up in next 24 to 48 hours to doublecheck on the issue.
If the information I've provided was helpful, give us some reinforcement by clicking the Accepted Solution and Kudos buttons, that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!
Have a great day!
Cheers:)
