Welcome to the HP Community.

IF the computer has a backlit keyboard,

Depending on the model, the back light is switched on with F5 (or FN + F5).

How to find?

You have to know the product number of the exact model of your computer

How to find your model name / product number:

Finding your Product Name, Product Number, or Serial Number

Reminder:  Do Not post the serial number or any private information in the Community – we are a public resource.

NEXT,

Open the online support website homepage for the computer

Open Category Manuals > Find and Open the User Guide

Check in the first first or second chapter for information on how to use the keyboard, special / action keys

NOTE:

If the key that switches on the back light is blank, your model does not include the feature.
