Keyboard
Microsoft Windows 11

It has been less than a year, with this laptop and in recent past I have been using an external keyboard most of the time. For some reason when I used inbuilt keyboard, the N and B keys are give infine slashes. I had no issues when used inbuilt keyboard the last time, which should not be more than a week ago. Also I checked with an external keyboard and it works fine. I also aassure that no water or food was spilled over. Nor was the lap hit anywhere recently. Obviously not in the past one week. How did keyboard suddenly go wrong?

It sounds like there might be a hardware issue or, occasionally, a software glitch affecting your laptop’s internal keyboard. If specific keys are suddenly typing slashes (e.g., N and B), here are a few steps to help troubleshoot on the site:

 1. Clean the Keyboard: Sometimes, dust or debris under the keys can cause them to stick or misfire. Use compressed air to gently clean around and under the N and B keys.

 2. Check Keyboard Settings and Language: Go to Settings > Time & Language > Language and ensure your keyboard layout is correct for your region. Occasionally, incorrect layouts can remap keys unintentionally.

 3. Keyboard Driver Update or Reset: Go to Device Manager > Keyboards, right-click your keyboard, and select Update driver. If the problem persists, try Uninstall device, then restart the laptop to reinstall the driver automatically.

 4. Boot in Safe Mode: Restart in Safe Mode and test the internal keyboard. If it works fine in Safe Mode, it might be software-related, possibly due to a recent update or app conflict.

 5. Test with On-Screen Keyboard: Open the On-Screen Keyboard on the site and type using it to see if any software conflicts are involved.

If the issue continues, there may be a hardware defect, and it would be best to have a technician inspect it, especially since it’s still within a year of purchase and might be under warranty.
