HP Notebook 15-BS020ns
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

We are running with this problem for more than 6 month now. The last crash was "VIDEO SCHEDULER INTERNAL ERROR". The system is Windows 10 Home 64 bits 1809 Version 17763.379.

Using HP Support Assitant all drivers and BIOS are updated to the last version.

Ran HP Diagnostics extensive tests looking for HW failures no results.

SFC /scannow , no issues.

Starting from a clean installation of WIndows 10 Home (1809) and then updating ALL drivers with HP Support Assistant the system has been estable for three days.

We have noticed in the past that the system when is not connected to internet, can be estable for days. However once connected crashes start again. I suspected of windows UPDATE making some kind of damage to the system, but I cannot track what could be wrong.

I also receive other kind of BSOD.

Tried all the Microsoft guidelines to troubleshoot this problem without success.

Any hints would be very much appreciated.

BTW, I´ve been a HP employee for 26 years.

Thank you

Hi

If you feel that the network/internet is a potential cause, are you covered by A/V like BitDefender and MalwareBytes?

Thank you for the answer.

Yes I have installed Kaspersky A/V, not Malwarebytes.

I believe could be more related to some changes made by Windows Update. However, in windows 10 Home, there limited control to STOP winupd. It restarts without my control.

Any other hint?

Errr   not really.

Stopping Windows updates can be done, here is something that several Microsoft people suggest...

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/3073930/how-to-temporarily-prevent-a-driver-update-from-rei... wushowhide.diagcab

and it didn't work for me.

Thank you.

Yes I can stop Windows Update but it restarts automatically.

The PC is running without problems until I connect to internet. Few minutes later I got The crash of VIDEO DRIVER. However I´ve installed the last version. Is there anyway to know what is executing when I connect to the network and produce the crash_.

Should I go to Microsoft comunity?

Thanks again for any ideas

Anyone has another idea_. I suspect from Windows Update. Is there anyway to stop ¨forever¨ winupd (Windows 10 Home)

Thank you
