ENVY x360 m6 Convertible
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hey guys, so recently I've been having this issue where my laptop  (ENVY x360 m6 Convertible) restarts everytime I re-open the lid. I've tried everything from the most obvious solutions to changing the settings from the POWER options to expanding Sleep and making sure to set Allow hybrid sleep and Hibernate after to Never, as well as expand Hard Disk and set Turn off hard disk after to Never.

I have also tried to Run Command Dialog Box and typed the following commands:
A. Disable the sleep mode option:  powercfg -h off.
B. Reset and Restore All Power Plans to Default: powercfg -restoredefaultschemes

I have also tried the following on the command prompt:

powercfg /h on
powercfg /h /type reduced
powercfg /h /type full

Nothing so far has worked. Any help will be much appreciated !

Hello, @RAJ_RIDOY – Hope you are well 🙂

Thanks for stopping by the HP Support Forums! It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts, and other support personnel!

I see that your HP notebook is restarting every time you re-open the lid. Appreciate all your efforts so far. I will do my best to find you a solution 😉

To assist you better, I need to know the complete product number of your notebook. If unsure, please check: http://hp.care/2oPCMBG Also, did you make any recent updates or changes before this issue started?

Alternatively, let's try to do a BIOS default on your PC. Here are the steps:

  1. Shutdown the computer.
  2. Turn the computer back on again and repeatedly tap on the ESC until a Startup menu appears.
  3. Press F10 once for BIOS.
  4. Press F9 for BIOS defaults.
  5. Press F10 to save and exit.

If the issue persists, update the graphic drivers as well. Assuming your PC is of Intel platform, run the intel driver update tool to automatically download and update the drivers: http://intel.ly/2oVUWAu

Also, update the NVidia drivers if you are having the NVidia graphic card: Official Drivers | NVIDIA

Restart your PC once done and check for issue resolution.

Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance!

Good luck 🙂
