Okay so I am looking for a specific driver. It is quite baffling honestly that HP has dropped support for ALL Windows 10 drivers..
Among the things I have tried is to use the entire chipset driver, but I have been unsuccesful in finding a corresponding package that works for Win 10 and my device.
The HARDWARE ID IS: ACPI\VEN_ELAN&DEV_07C6
I really need this driver otherwise my laptop will not function! I have somehow, by miracle been able to find every single driver except this one, and succesfully installed them.
Any response would be greatly appreciated ! And, by chance could I somehow connect HP and get a driver directly from them? I am sure they still have them somewhere... down in the oldie basement, with this sort of policy they have..

The 16-wd000 model series was never supported by HP for W10, which is why there are no W10 drivers available.
The model series is only supported by HP for W11, and you made the decision to install an unsupported operating system on it.
Did you try the W11 Elan touchpad driver from the support page? Sometimes they work on W10.
If you have already tried that to no avail, then the only suggestion I can offer would be to see if by some chance this W10 driver from an older model notebook works on yours.

If not, you will have to (re)install W11, and use the drivers from the support page if you want the notebook to work as designed.

Hello, thank you for a speedy response. I understand that the laptop that I have is unsupported by Windows 10. The reason I need Windows 10 in the first place is because I am utilizing some software that will not under any cirumstance run on Windows 11 and it is quite mission critical to me. I have tried the Windows 11 driver and also quite a few of the drivers for some of the older models. Sadly none of them have worked, including the one you have provided. I am so close to being able to use it with windows 10, as I have literally been able to install every single driver except this one, which just makes this all the more sour.. I am not willing to give so easily. I think I only need a part-driver, which is why I provided the exact HWID for the piece, as I could piece together something from somewhere else, which is what makes it even more sad to me. So close, yet so far.. sigh. I even got the HID filters and other touchpad components to work, but I have for some unknown reason been totally unable to find a driver for that specific component.. which also happens to be the mission critical component.. sighhhhh
