@PanchoVilla52, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Sudden resets on your HP laptop can be caused by a variety of issues ranging from overheating, driver conflicts, or system settings. Let’s walk through some steps to help resolve this:

Disable Automatic Restart to View Error Messages

This will help identify if a Blue Screen (BSOD) is causing the resets.

  • Press Windows + S, type View advanced system settings, and open it.
  • Under Startup and Recovery, click Settings.
  • Uncheck Automatically restart, then click OK.
  • Restart your laptop.

Now, if an error occurs, Windows will show a blue screen with a message instead of restarting. You can use that info to diagnose further.

Check for Overheating

Overheating can cause sudden shutdowns or restarts.

  • Ensure vents are not blocked.
  • Use the laptop on a hard, flat surface.
  • Clean dust from vents using compressed air.

Update BIOS and Drivers

Outdated BIOS or drivers can cause instability.

Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

To rule out hardware issues:

  • Restart your laptop and press F2 repeatedly to enter HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
  • Run System Tests > Extensive Test

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
