Hi @Suuui,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP laptop is stuck on "Preparing Automatic Repair," here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow.
Hard Reset:
- Power off the laptop completely by holding the power button for 10-15 seconds.
- Once the laptop is off, power it on again and check if it continues to "Preparing Automatic Repair."
Boot into Safe Mode:
- Power on the laptop and as soon as the HP logo appears, press F8 or Shift + F8 repeatedly to access the Advanced Boot Options menu.
- From there, try booting into Safe Mode. If successful, you can attempt to troubleshoot the issue further.
Perform Startup Repair:
- Power on the laptop and immediately press F11 (or the key for your specific model) to access the HP Recovery Manager.
- Select Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Startup Repair.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to allow Windows to try fixing the startup issue automatically.
Use System Restore:
- In the Advanced Options menu (accessed via F11 during boot), select System Restore.
- This will restore your system to a previous point when it was functioning properly, which can help resolve issues caused by recent changes.
Check for Disk Errors:
- If you're able to access Command Prompt from the Advanced Options menu, run the following command:
chkdsk /f /r
- This will check the disk for errors and attempt to fix them.
Reset the PC:
- If nothing works, you can try performing a Factory Reset from the Troubleshoot menu. Note that this will remove all personal files, so it’s recommended only as a last resort.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
