Hello cake10-_,

Thank you for sharing your concern.

If your HP Pavilion laptop has been stuck at 44% during a BIOS update for an extended period, it can be concerning. Here are steps you can take to address the situation:

Wait a Little Longer: Sometimes, BIOS updates can take a significant amount of time, especially if they are performing extensive checks or updates. Ensure the laptop is plugged in and has a stable power supply.

Perform a Hard Reset:

Disconnect any peripherals (such as USB drives or external monitors).
Press and hold the power button until the laptop shuts down completely.
Wait a few seconds, then power it back on.

Check for Recovery Options:

When you restart the laptop, see if it enters a recovery mode or provides options to continue the update or rollback changes.

Do Not Interrupt:

If the update resumes after the restart, allow it to continue. Ensure the laptop remains connected to a power source to avoid further interruptions.
Contact HP Support:

If the BIOS update remains stuck even after a restart, or if the laptop does not boot properly, it's advisable to contact HP Support. They can provide troubleshooting guidance or service options.
Access HP Support:

You can visit the official HP support page and enter your laptop model for specific troubleshooting tips or to initiate a service request: HP Support.
It's important to note that interrupting a BIOS update can sometimes lead to system instability; thus, contacting support may be necessary for a resolution.
