15-aq100 CTO
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I bought a Laptop HP Envy X360 Convertible model 15' 15-aq100 from a friend, but he has upgraded the HD to a SSD 256GB

So, there is no recovery partition (HP) and I live in Brazil, I cannot buy the media from HP-us

I wonder if anyone can upload a iso recovery for this model and share the link

The operationg system is Windows 10 x64

Thank you all

You're very welcome.

At the top of that recovery media ordering page, the only option for recovery media is a 16 GB USB flash drive.

Hi:

To reinstall W10, you can use the media creation tool at the link below.

I would make the installation media now in case you need it.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

The tool will allow you to make a bootable USB flash drive (you need an 8 GB USB flash drive for this), or save an ISO file that you can burn to a DVD.

The software will work with the W10 product key in your notebook's BIOS and automatically activate once you are connected to the internet.

Then you can install the drivers and available software from your notebook's support page.

Thanks for your reply !

But I'm looking for the HP Recovery because there is software and drivers originals from HP that the recovery from Microsoft doesn't have. Also the media created by microsoft doesn't enable Windows Hello Feature.

Can you confirm if this model 15-aq100 works with Windows Hello logon?

Thank you

You're very welcome.

Unfortunately, I don't know if that model works with Windows Hello.

Did you check the driver page I posted for what available software there is for download?

Most if not all you need should be found there.

You already know you can't order recovery media for your notebook unless you have a friend or relative living in the USA that can order it, and mail it to you.  You would need to give them the serial number of your notebook.

Here is the link to order recovery media to be shipped to a USA address.

That would be the only way you could do it.

Otherwise you would have to go the clean install route.

Dear Paul,

Thanks for your reply!

I checked the driver at driver page for this model, and the latest is a HP IR Camera Driver (Windows 10 v1709).

My Windows 10 is running with 1803 update. Unfortunately there is no driver for 1803 yet, but I think that the camera of this laptop have IR, because all camera drivers available is for "HP IR Camera"

About the recovery medias, there is only DVDs? Do you know if there is a flashdrive recovery available?

I think if I'll need those medias, the better solution is to use a online service for shipping to my country, like "qwintry"

thank you very much

Regards,
