I apologize in advance for the length of this message and I also thank you in advance for your help. I will try to be as detailed as I know how.
MODEL # HP NOTEBOOK - 15-AY039WM (ENERGY STAR)
PRODUCT ID # X0H85UA#ABA
There seems to be something going on with my computer. When I press the power button, the computer turns on just fine. The screen lights up to let me know that it is turning on. But then the screen remains blank for a while. Then, after some time, the "HP" logo pops up and it remains on the screen for a while. After some time, a message might pop up under the "HP" logo that says "Automatic Repair" or something to that affect. I've gotten this message several times yesterday. Today, however, the message underneath says, "Repairing Disk Errors, This might take over an hour to complete." This is the first time I've gotten this particular message. Anyway, after some time goes by, it then pops up a blue screen that says "Recovery" at the very top with a message that says, "Your PC could not start properly. After multiple tries, the operating system on your PC failed to start, so it needs to be repaired. Error code 0xc0000001. You'll need to use recovery tools. If you don't have any installation media (like a disc or USB device), contact your PC administrator or PC device manufacturer."
There are a couple things I would like to add:
1. I do have a USB plugged in. However, it does not seem to be picking it up (not sure if I said that correctly). I wander if this is why the message that popped up today spoke about repairing disk errors.
2. The error code I listed above is one error code that I got when I tried to start my computer. But there was another message code that came up the very first two times I tried to start my computer. I did not have a USB inserted during these times (if that information even matters). The message code was this: " A required device is not connected or cannot be accessed. Error code 0xc0000185."
ADDED LATER
So I just ran a system diagnostics test and it came back saying "HARD DRIVE SHORT DST CHECK FAILED. HARD DRIVE 1 PRIMARY HDD BAY. FAILURE ID: 9BW7WX-8HUA71-XD7X7F-60Q003
I really hope this is enough information for someone to help me.

OK, sorry - yes you did post the model number in the first post.
The results of the test indicates the hard drive has failed and needs to be replaced. This will also mean that Windows 10 needs to be reinstalled. That model might be able to use the HP Cloud Recovery Tool which installs Windows 10 and HP drivers.

If it does not apply, then you can use the Windows 10 download from Microsoft found here:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
With a working PC, scroll down to the "Using the tool to create installation media" and then follow the directions for either a DVD or USB. Then use this new media to install Windows 10 on the new hard drive. The Spec page indicates that model has a 1TB hard drive.

With that message, there could be a number of causes. First, run the diagnostics from the popup menu. Before starting, begin tapping the Esc key and then try a startup. Keep tapping the Esc key until a popup menu shows. Then pick "Diagnostics" from that menu. After those complete, report back with the results.
Also please post the model number of this PC for more complete answers.

The 1TB drive is fairly common. If you live in the USA, here are some examples:
