I am using HP ENVY x360 – 15-aq267cl with Win10 Home-64Bit OS. after upgrading the OS version to 1909, I am facing the below issue. "When the laptop is idle, the laptop automatically goes off and I can not resume it. After power-off and power-on the Laptop, it starts to work". I have tried all the possibilities like Power troubleshooter and change the Power Plan settings. Also, I have reset the OS via recovery mode with leave personal files option. I have upgraded the Mother Board BIOS version and other hardware drivers. Even though I have faced the issue. Please kindly help me to solve this issue

Hello @AnanthiS
Windows 10 1909 is still very new.
1903 is at the moment the latest one which Microsoft have tested more and 1903 is the latested business approved versions, which means more stable to be deployed on production machines.
1909 is still not approved for businesses >> https://www.theinquirer.net/inquirer/news/3082152/windows-10-1903-ready-for-business
- Solution -> Save yourself the hassle and reinstall with 1809 or 1903. If you need assistance how to do it, use the PDF below. Use Heidoc tools to download the previous builds 1809 or 1903
Once newer builds gain more stability, you can approve. For the time being, keep 1903 or 1809 unless they force you to upgrade
After you reinstall 1809 or 1903, you can prevent temporary the 1909 from auto installing by following these steps >> https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/3073930/how-to-temporarily-prevent-a-driver-update-from-rei...

Thank you very much for your reply. I found two version of Win10-64Bit-1903 [Win10-64Bit-1903-V1 released in May19 and Win10-64Bit-1903-V2 released in Sep19] when download via Windows-ISO Down loader as per your pdf file. Kindly clarify me, which version recommended by HP.

Hi,
You are welcome !
Just to be clear - I do not speak on behalf of HP - I speak on behalf of myself and the above mentioned is general advice based on publicly available information.
- With regards to your question, I would try with 1903-V1 released in May19.
Let me know if you face any difficulties.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply with multiple solutions.
I have followed the below steps in My HP ENVY x360-15-aq267cl Laptop to overcome the Sleep, Hibernate and Shutdown issue
1. Newly Installed the Win10-64Bit Home Edition 1903 v1 Released in May 19. Now the OS Build is "Windows 10 Home 1903 Build 18362.30"
2. Change the Windows Update Services setting to Manual
3. Temporarily disable the Windows10-1903 cumulative updates and intel updates via "Hide Updates troubleshooter package". Even though I have hidden the auto-update of the Intel drive package, the display driver is automatically upgraded. So I have faced the same issue (Sleep mode not recover and The computer does not go into hibernate and Shutdown mode)
3. Then I roll back the VGA Driver and configured the Intel HD VGA Driver Manually (released in Apr2018), not by running the setup file, configured via Device Manager-> update driver
3. Modify the Powe Plan Sleep mode setting as "never" in both Battery and Plugging Mode (for both Display and HardDisk).
4. uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" option in Device Manager-> System Devices-> Intel (R) Management Engine Interface Properties
5. After that hibernate and shutdown option is working. But Even I closed the Laptop in Hibernate Mode yesterday (23Jan20), I have faced 100% Battery drained issue Today (24Jan20) morning when I trying to Power-on the Lap. Then I power-on the Laptop in Plugging mode.
6. Now I have installed the latest BIOS (released on 03Jan20), chipset drivers, via HP Support assistant Today. Now I put my Laptop under observation.
I will update you if I face any issue
Thanks

- If I understand correctly, the original issue you posted about"Laptop automatically goes down when an idle" has been resolved ? Could you confirm ? Because now this issue does not happen and you can start back the PC while in hibernation ?
Battery drain is a different thing from the initial issue ... Could you elaborate on what you mean by "battery drain" - I mean can you tell me your vision for battery drain and what you understand by battery drain - how fast is 'fast' for you ?
- As a general step, try this reinstallation of the MS ACPI compliant driver:
- Click the Windows “Start” button and right-click “Computer.”
- Click “Manage,” then “Device Manager.”
- Click the “Batteries” section. A list of devices will appear.
- Right-click the “Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery” device and click “Uninstall.”
- Click the “Action” menu item and “Scan for Hardware Changes” to reinstall the driver.
Restart the computer and the issue should be fixed >> https://www.digitalcitizen.life/7-ways-shut-down-or-restart-windows-10-pc-or-device
- Can you test the battery using HP Support Assistant and post back the results >> https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04700771
