Hello friends, Two days ago, I tried to turn on my computer, but it shut down. Without understanding what happened, I tried to turn it on again, but it shut down again. When I tried to open it again, I received a Battery 601 error, and the computer started. It has been a year since I bought my computer, and when I checked, I was warned that I needed to replace the battery. However, the same test showed that the battery was in good condition when charged to 100%. The cycle was only 24/1000, and there was no loss in battery capacity in my tests. Today, the same thing happened again. I turned on my computer, and it shut down while trying to open Google normally. When I pressed the power button, I received a 601 error. My battery, which was at 100% charge when the computer restarted, became 0, and the HP support application again indicated that my battery was damaged. Does anyone know the reason for this?

Hi @Ilayda0,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It seems like you're facing some issues with your HP laptop's battery. The "Battery 601" error typically indicates a problem with the battery and is often associated with a recommendation to replace the battery.
Here are a few possible explanations for the issues you're experiencing.
- Battery Wear and Tear: Over time, laptop batteries can degrade due to charge and discharge cycles. Even if your battery reports good health, it's possible that it is not holding a charge as effectively as it should. The sudden shutdown and drop from 100% to 0% could be a sign of battery wear.
- Faulty Battery Calibration: Sometimes, recalibrating the battery can resolve erratic behavior. To recalibrate, you can try fully charging the battery, then discharging it completely before charging it again. However, this may not always solve the problem.
- Battery Connection Issues: There could be an issue with the battery connection to the laptop. Loose connections or faulty battery connectors might lead to sudden power loss or incorrect battery readings.
- Software or Driver Issues: It's possible that there's a software or driver-related problem causing the battery issues. Ensure that your operating system, drivers, and BIOS are up to date.
If the battery health tests report normal conditions.
Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot:
- Update your laptop's BIOS to the latest version from the HP support website.
- Check for driver updates, especially those related to power management.
- Run a system diagnostic test through the HP support application to identify any hardware issues.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
