My laptop closes all programs either when going to sleep or when coming out of sleep, all applications are closed. Any microsoft office app will close, when I then open a new document, all documents that i had previously opened will open again with a message that they were automaticly restored. So say i had 6 Word documents opened, they will all close. If I the open an new Word document, all 6 of them will open again. My laptop would also give an error message but when I previously looked for a solution, I dont remember what I did, all it did was remove the error message but the problem still remained. I also don't remember the error message. I tried to change the sleep and hibernation settings but that did not solve the problem. I also did something DISM restorehealth that I found on a forum, i updated to windows 11, I did a BIOS reset/reboot  but that also didnt help. I also did a full system scan with  Bitdefender but it found nothing.

I don't know what else there is to do, I don't want to reset my laptop to factory settings

Hi @RubenRn,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Do not worry, I'd be happy to help you!

I understand that you are facing issues with your laptop closing all programs/apps while in sleep mode.

Since you have performed all the steps and still having issues, then the option would be reset to factory.

However, if you are not comfortable resetting your PC, this might require one-on-one interaction to fix the issue.

We have limited support boundaries in the support community as of now. I would request you to contact our HP Support Engineers who should be able to sort this out.

For that to happen, we will give you additional instructions/information via Private Message.

Please check your inbox on the forums page for the private message.

If the information I've provided was helpful, give us some reinforcement by clicking the Accepted Solution button, that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!
