Hi,

windows requested to perform an update and I asked the computer to perform it and switch off.

While performing the update the pc underwent a BIOS update. After a couple of restarts, the pc fan started spinning rapidly while the BIOS was being updated, then it suddenly stopped working at all.

The power botton is not working, caps lock is on and then blinks rapidly a couple of time.

I've tried removing both RAM and SDD but that did not help.

I was not able to find this precise error code in the forum and the key combination for bios recovery does not work.

Thank for the support.

Can you remove the battery and hold the power button down on the laptop for 20 seconds and then try again

HP Recommended

Hi there Zjanssen, done.

Pushed the power up button for 20 seconds, at 10 seconds the cap lock light turned off. I kept pressing the power button, then released at 20 sec. The light switched on again. Nothing else happened. Tried again, same result. Pressed for just 10 seconds, same result.

Thanks anyhow!

Did you remove the battery & the power adapter? The caps lock key should not be lighting up

I've repeated the operation with the ac unplugged (leds switched off); no sound or feedback given; after having plugged the ac in, caps lock led is back again, but now it only blinks once (so it stays on and then blink rapidly once, then goes back on).
