Microsoft Windows 11

I created a Microsoft Windows 11 usb boot drive. I use this for all my computers and laptops and its the latest version. Problem I see is if I try to install windows 11 on my laptop the pro version isn't recognized only the home version, why is that? I should be allowed to install windows 11 pro from a Microsoft boot drive, No? I want to perform a clean installation of windows 11 pro but can't because laptop only shows home version, why?

Unfortunately, you cannot clean install W11 Pro on a PC with an embedded W10/W11 Home product key in the BIOS.

How Windows 10/W11 works is the installation media has all versions of W10/W11 included, which is why you don't see separate downloads for W10 Home and W10 Pro like you used to with W7 and older operating systems.

So, no matter how many times you try to clean install W11, the installation will detect the W10/W11 Home product key that is encrypted in the notebook's BIOS and you will always end up with a clean install of W10/W11 Home.

What you need to do is now that there is a clean install of W11 Home on there, read the info at the link below for how to upgrade the installation to W11 Pro.

I assume you have a W11 Pro product key to use for the upgrade, so follow the instructions for upgrading with a W11 Pro product key.
