HP Notebook - 15-ay503tu
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I have a HP Notebook - 15-ay503tu. For a few months, I had been having issues with slowing down of the laptop due to Windows Defender over zealously scanning files / folders etc. It was so bad that at times, the laptop reacted to clicks only after about a minute or so. I installed Kaspersky Free  Antivirus hoping it would help with a smoother performance and that the laptop would be less sluggish

While the installation went smooth, on the recommended restart, the laptop just doesn't start anymore. It tries a few times to start, gives up and ends up forever on the Preparing Automatic Repair screen. I am clueless what I could do next. Below are the things I have tried so far,

1. Force Power On / Off

2. Tried recovering from my Recovery USB - Results in a blank screen

3. Tried the F11 Recovery option - Stuck forever at 'Please Wait'

Any ideas how I could work around this issue? Thanks

Try diagnostics on the hard drive in particular, it could be failing.

You could leave it overnight on the preparing repair screen.
