Hi,

as @A4Apollo is out of the office today, I'm replying to you. You've done a remarkable job performing the steps.

The results indicate that the hard drive has failed the test. Because of a defective hard drive the laptop was facing the issues. I suggest you to contact our HP phone support to explore the hardware service options for your laptop.

All the best! 🙂

Hello @Shanmu,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers.

I understand your HP Notebook hangs up after 2 min once connected for charging.

Follow the below steps and let me know how it goes.

  • Try a different charger and check what happens.

Run the System Diagnostics tests

The diagnostic tests are run from the Startup menu. These tests check the main components of your computer to make sure they are working properly.

Use the following steps to run the diagnostics tests to check for problems.

  1. Press and hold the Power button until the computer turns off completely.

  2. Turn on the computer. Immediately press the Esc key repeatedly, about once every second, until the Startup Menu is displayed.

  3. Press the F2 key. The System Diagnostics screen is displayed and the following menu is shown.

    • System Information

    • Start-Up Test

    • Run-In Test

    • Hard Disk Test

    • Memory Test

    • Battery Test

    • Error Log

    • Exit

  • Keep me posted how it goes.

If the issue is resolved and you appreciate my help!

Have a great day.
