Hi @Amitasony1902,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Notebook 15s is experiencing performance issues such as hanging or displaying a blurred screen with lines, there could be several potential causes for these problems. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can take to identify and possibly resolve the issue:
Check for Software Issues:
- Close unnecessary background applications: Make sure you don't have too many applications running simultaneously, as this can slow down your laptop.
- Update operating system and drivers: Ensure that your laptop has the latest Windows (or other operating system) updates and the most up-to-date graphics drivers from the HP website.
- Scan for malware and viruses: Run a full system scan with reliable antivirus software to rule out any malicious software causing performance problems.
Hardware Issues:
- Overheating: Overheating can lead to performance issues and screen glitches. Ensure that your laptop's vents are clean and not obstructed. You can also use a cooling pad to help with temperature control.
- RAM and Storage: Check if your laptop has sufficient RAM for your tasks and if your storage drive (HDD/SSD) is not nearing its capacity limit. If necessary, consider upgrading your RAM or storage.
- Graphics Card: If the lines and blurriness are particularly associated with graphical tasks or gaming, it could be an issue with the graphics card. Ensure that the graphics drivers are up to date.
Software and Background Processes:
- Disable unnecessary startup programs: Too many programs running at startup can slow down your laptop. Disable unnecessary startup applications from the Task Manager.
- Monitor CPU and RAM usage: Use Task Manager to monitor CPU and RAM usage when your laptop starts to hang. This can help identify resource-intensive processes.
System Maintenance:
- Regularly perform disk cleanup and defragmentation (if you're using an HDD).
- Consider reinstalling the operating system as a last resort if software issues persist.
Hardware Inspection:
- If you're comfortable with it or have technical expertise, you can open the laptop and check for loose connections, especially the cable connecting the display.
External Devices:
- Disconnect any external devices (e.g., USB drives, external monitors) to see if they might be causing the issue.
Backup Your Data:
- Before attempting any significant troubleshooting steps, it's a good idea to ensure your important data is backed up in case anything goes wrong.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, it might be a hardware problem, such as a failing graphics card, RAM module, or display.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
